Environmental Applications:
Methanol Measurement in Biodiesel Plants
The measurement of Methanol leaks in biodiesel production facilities is essential for compliance with air quality operating permit requirements, and the DataFID VOC analyzer from Photovac offers this capability in a portable and easy to operate instrument.
With its flame ionization detection (FID) technology, the DataFID measures Methanol leaks accurately and quickly. Its unique metal hydride hydrogen cylinder provides 70 hours of use from one cylinder, with a 15 hour battery for use by multiple shifts. Critical data is displayed in less than 3 seconds, and can be sent wirelessly with the DataFID's Blue tooth connectivity to a laptop or PDA.
The DataFID meets and exceeds the requirements of NSPS Subpart VV specific to EPA Method 21 for fugitive emissions, also known as leak detection and repair (LDAR). It is rated intrinsically safe for hazardous environments.
