MicroFID II

The Photovac MicroFID is an intrinsically safe Flame Ionization Detector. It is well known for its ease of use and rugged construction. The MicroFID was designed for HAZMAT detection, landfill gas detection, LDAR monitoring, soil headspace screening and confined space entry.

However, as of January 1st, 2011, the MicroFID has been replaced by the MicroFID II.

Is the original MicroFID still available?
The intrinsic safety rating on the MicroFID expired on January 1st, 2011. The MicroFID II is now being sold as the replacement for the original MicroFID.

What are my options for flame ionization detectors?

  • MicroFID II: The Photovac MicroFID II is Photovac’s latest innovation in flame ionization technology. It features Bluetooth wireless connectivity and a unique 70 hour hydrogen cylinder. The MicroFID II is rated intrinsically safe for use in Class 1, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, D environments.

What if my application requires an intrinsically safe FID?
Photovac offers the MicroFID II, an intrinsically safe flame ionization detector for these applications. The MicroFID II has advanced features including Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and a unique 70 hour hydrogen cylinder. It is well suited for Leak Detection and Repair, HAZMAT response, industrial hygiene monitoring, or any type of VOC monitoring that requires an intrinsically safe FID.

Is the MicroFID that I purchased before January 1, 2011 still rated intrinsically safe?
Yes. MicroFIDs manufactured before January 1, 2011 are rated as intrinsically safe for use in hazardous environments.
