Flame Ionization Detector for sale

The Flame Ionization Detector (FID) is similar to the PID Detector in that it provides an accurate measurement of the total amounts of VOCs present, but it is able to measure a wider range of VOCs than the PID detector. It is especially useful as a natural gas, or methane, detector. It is often used as a HAZMAT VOC detector, especially by First Responders, and as a confined space gas monitor. These instruments can detect VOC presence and measure their concentration. They operate by ionizing the gas so that the amount present can be measured. 

What FID products does Photovac offer?
Photovac offers two FID products: the EnviroFID and the DataFID.

How do they differ?
The EnviroFID is smaller and lighter than the DataFID, but has less data logging and storage capability. The DataFID features significant datalogging capabilitiey, wiesless download to a computer, and a unique long-life hydrogen supply. The DataFID is rated intrinsically safe for use in hazardous environments, while the EnviroFID does not have an intrinsic safety rating.

What Intrinsic Safety standards does the DataFID meet?
The DataFID is certified to meet the UL requirements of Class 1, Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D for use in hazardous environments.

Where is the EnviroFID primarily used?
The EnviroFID is an efffecive general purpose FID for soil gas monitoring and general VOC detection

Who would prefer the DataFID?
The greater data logging capability of the DataFID makes it ideal for leak detection in accordance with Method 21, which specifies the LDAR data collection requirements for refineries and petrochemical plants. Its intrinsic safety classification allows it to be used in hazardous environments.

Can I use these units as a Soil Gas analyzer?
Both of the flame ionization detector instruments measure VOCs accurately, so they are ideal for soil gas analysis.

How long will the unit operate on a full battery charge?
Both the EnviroFID and the DataFID can last approximately 15 hours on a full battery charge.

How reliable are the instruments?
If they are properly maintained the instruments are vary accurate and reliable in a wide variety of environmental conditions, including high humidity.

Does Photovac provide a warranty on the units?
Photovac provides a one year warranty on all of its products for defects in material or workmanship.
