WALTHAM, MA, July 24, 2007 — Photovac, Inc., the manufacturer of premium instruments for VOC analysis in air, soil, and groundwater, is pleased to announce the successful completion of EN13980:2002 quality audit as part of the company’s ATEX license renewal process. Such audits are conducted on a 3 year cycle to certify a manufacturer's ability to produce under license ATEX certified intrinsically safe product for distribution in the European Community countries.

The EN13980:2002 quality program is part of Photovac's overall Quality Management system which is designed to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with ATEX certifications.

ATEX (ATmospheric EXplosibles) standards have been established under the terms of the European Directive 94/9/EC that details a manufacturer's obligations regarding design and use of instruments such as Photovac's in hazardous atmospheres. The directive became effective on July 1, 2003 as national legislation in all EC member states.
